It Works! Green Smoothie Recipes
There’s nothing like a smoothie to boost your energy throughout the day. Green smoothies are fun to make, have a ton of nutrients your body needs and you can get a full day’s worth of fruits and veggies in just one serving.
It Works super food powder better known as Greens helps you whip up your favorite smoothie in just minutes. Don’t let the simple Greens name fool you, as we shared in a recent post, Greens contains over 8 servings of fruits and vegetables and packs a powerful punch.
The Base: 1/2 avocado
The Greens: 2 scoops Greens (orange or berry will work)
1/2 large banana
1/4 cup ice cubes
1/2 – 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk
Mint Chocolate Smoothy
Blend ice, avocado, banana and Greens until smooth. Add coconut or almond milk to thin to desired texture.
The Chocolate: 1-2 tablespoons of your favorite dark chocolate powder, chips or cocao nibs
The Mint: Fresh mint leaves (2-3 leaves, more if you want it more minty)
The Greens: 2 Scoops of Greens (berry flavor)
The Base: 1/2 cup nonfat (nondairy) vanilla ice cream 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup of ice cubes Up to 1 cup of almond milk (add 1/2 cup at a time to get the texture you want)
The trick here is the ice cream – you’ll want to use something with a creamy base. If you don’t mind dairy, go for low fat vanilla icecream or even try vanilla Greek yogurt.
Directions: Blend ice, ice cream, chocolate, mint and Greens until smooth, add almond milk to thin the smoothie to desired texture.
Green Goodness Smoothie
The Base: 1/2 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
The Greens: 2 Scoops of Greens (orange flavor)
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 – 1/2 cup of pineapple or mango or your favorite tropical fruit juice
1/4 cup ice cubes
Directions: Blend ice, frozen banana, Greek yogurt and Greens until smooth, add juice to thin the smoothie to desired texture.
